Working from home and living with three animals means I don’t have to talk much, unless I have to make a purposeful call. But I sing. I repeat things—this is called echolalia. My friend enjoys planting phrases in my head for me to repeat. One of my favourite releases is smoking a bit, gargling water, then singing one of my favorite songs. Being stoned makes me feel like I’m vibrating, and when I sing, the sensation is amplified, making me feel grounded and present. Even when I’m not stoned, singing something I love makes me feel electric.
